Star Wars Battlefront II: Age of Rebellion Update

Updated: May 5, 2020

Finally, some TLC for the original trilogy!

If you’re like me and thousands of other EA Battlefront II players, you’ve been wondering when the original trilogy would take the spotlight in a community update. Much to our delight, the wait is finally over; community manager F8RGE posted a community transmission with this to say about the new Age of Rebellion update: “February begins our focus on the Age of Rebellion. We know this has been a greatly requested update for our community and it’s going to be a big one.”

The first chunk of the Age of Rebellion update is the addition of two new Reinforcements, both of which are classed as Infiltrators - a class that has been exclusive to the Clone Wars era until now.

New Reinforcements

Joining the Rebel Alliance is the deceptively adorable Ewok Hunter, who’s armed to the teeth with a bow, spear, and Wisties to help them hunt their Imperial prey on Endor and beyond.

The Ewok Hunter’s weapon of choice is the Hunter’s Bow, which has dual firing modes. When firing from the hip, the Hunter’s Bow picks out targets for you, while manually zooming offers you more control and the ability to hold your draw (similar to Lando’s Dead Eye ability).

If you find yourself in need of a buff, the Valiant Horn ability improves attack damage and provides extra damage resistance at the expense of being visible on your enemies’ scanners.

The infamous Wisties from the Ewok Hunt game mode has arrived on the battlefront to deliver burn damage as disorient Imperial forces.

The Hunter’s Instinct ability allows the Ewok Hunter to tap into their natural instincts to uncover and target weakened opponents on the battlefield.

New to the ranks of the Galactic Empire is the ISB Agent. Armed with two RK-3 blasters, the ISB Agent is skilled in intelligence gathering and close combat, working tirelessly to eliminate the enemies of the Empire.

The Assault Training ability allows you to move in and out of combat with ease, while also providing damage reduction during the ability’s duration.

With the Imperial Intel ability, you can scan the area to reveal the four closet enemies. This number is increased by defeating enemies while the ability is active, up to a maximum of 10.

Double Your Effort works similarly to the Officer ability Battle Command, regenerating your allies’ base health when in range.

New Co-Op Locations

Also featured in the Age of Rebellion update is Co-Op mode maps for the original trilogy. A total 7 locations have been added to the game mode, the full list below:

  • Yavin

  • Death Star II

  • Endor

  • Hoth

  • Tatooine

  • Kessel

  • Jabba’s Palace

In addition to these locations, new standalone maps based on the capital ships from the Supremacy game mode are being added to the Clone Wars and sequel trilogy Co-Op mode. This is reportedly starting with the Republic Venator and Separatist Dreadnought.

New Trooper Weapons

And now, the best for last: the Age of Rebellion update includes four new blasters for you to unlock and modify!

E-11D

A medium-range blaster rifle build for precision and reliability available for the Assault class.

DL-18

Popular in the Outer Rim for its lightweight build and fast fire rate, the short-range DL-18 is available for the Officer class.

T-21

This heavy blaster may fire slow, but it packs a devastating punch at short range. The T-21 is available for the Heavy class.

Cycler Rifle

You may remember this crude, long-range blaster rifle from Battlefront 2015 as the bane of your existence - get ready for it to live up to its reputation. While it is an iconic piece of the Tusken Raider arsenal, it is now also available for the Specialist class.
