“You’re a true friend,” - Rey to BB-8
If you’re a fan of lovable droids and incessant beeping, the BB update will have you rolling with excitement (heh!) BB-8 has become a fan favorite within the Star Wars™ universe since his debut in Star Wars: The Force Awakens™, and now he’s joining us on the battlefront!
New Heroes
If there’s one thing BB-8 can do, it’s move fast. He is able to move in and out of harm's way at high speed, and is also able to capture a Command Post at a quicker rate than his allies.
BB-8 comes with another advantage, his Rolling Charge ability. Activate it and BB-8 will roll even faster than normal, headfirst. When he collides an enemy, he extends his head, damaging and pushing them back.
The Shock Prod ability can be used on enemies in front of him, which deals electrical damage to them over time.
BB-8 can utilize the Resistance Backing ability to unveil enemies around him. Not only will they be revealed, they will also be more vulnerable to attacks, taking increased damage. Any enemies revealed by Resistance Backing will also have their radar corrupted, making them disoriented and easier to eliminate.
The Cable Spin ability is perfect for crowd control. When activated, BB-8 will begin to rotate, extending three tow cables, hitting all enemies around him and causing high damage.
New to the ranks of the Galactic Empire is the ISB Agent. Armed with two RK-3 blasters, the ISB Agent is skilled in intelligence gathering and close combat, working tirelessly to eliminate the enemies of the Empire.
The Assault Training ability allows you to move in and out of combat with ease, while also providing damage reduction during the ability’s duration.
With the Imperial Intel ability, you can scan the area to reveal the four closet enemies. This number is increased by defeating enemies while the ability is active, up to a maximum of 10.
Double Your Effort works similarly to the Officer ability Battle Command, regenerating your allies’ base health when in range.
New Co-Op Locations
Also featured in the Age of Rebellion update is Co-Op mode maps for the original trilogy. A total 7 locations have been added to the game mode, the full list below:
Yavin
Death Star II
Endor
Hoth
Tatooine
Kessel
Jabba’s Palace
In addition to these locations, new standalone maps based on the capital ships from the Supremacy game mode are being added to the Clone Wars and sequel trilogy Co-Op mode. This is reportedly starting with the Republic Venator and Separatist Dreadnought.
New Trooper Weapons
And now, the best for last: the Age of Rebellion update includes four new blasters for you to unlock and modify!
E-11D
A medium-range blaster rifle build for precision and reliability available for the Assault class.
DL-18
Popular in the Outer Rim for its lightweight build and fast fire rate, the short-range DL-18 is available for the Officer class.
T-21
This heavy blaster may fire slow, but it packs a devastating punch at short range. The T-21 is available for the Heavy class.
Cycler Rifle
You may remember this crude, long-range blaster rifle from Battlefront 2015 as the bane of your existence - get ready for it to live up to its reputation. While it is an iconic piece of the Tusken Raider arsenal, it is now also available for the Specialist class.
